An island filled with mythological creatures that aren’t supposed to be real. But the island is ruled by a spoiled boy, King Rodney, who has taken control of the creatures through some strange magic. He refuses to let anyone leave, including Yumiko and her parents! Can Yumiko find a way off the island and back home, for herself and the other imprisoned creatures?

Discover your destiny.

Let me tell you how much I loved the novel:

I just read Randall's upcoming new novel and it has already got me excited. This book is releasing on November 16th, 2018 and you all have to read this book. I mean it!

This book revolves around a young girl called Yumiko who goes looking for her birth mom with her adoptive parents. Yumiko is a Japanese girl adopted by African-american parents. The only think that the girl has from her birth mother is her locket. The adoptive parents - Corr's raise money from the church in their city Chicago to go to the orphanage to find more about the birth mother, only to find out that everything else linking Yumiko to her mother was destroyed in a Tsunami in Japan. The only other information that they receive from the orphanage is the mother was in an island in the sea of Japan just off of Tokyo and so the trio set sail to find the birth mother.

What follows next are some of the best events that unfold and keeps you hooked and engaged throughout the book. The rush I felt while reading this book was exhilaration and I did not want to set it down until I finished it. If you're one of those people who loved Ergon series and Harry Potter series, you're going to love this book. I'm definitely adding this book to the list of fantasy novels I loved and would revisit. The most beautiful thing about this book is that all the mythical creatures that you've read and heard about throughout your childhood come to life. It's like the Avengers or Justice League of fantasies. (if you can relate!) Randall uses everything we've learnt about fantasy and somehow it all makes sense like we knew it from a subject we studied a long time ago.

The whole idea is following a prophesy is all too familiar. But, I don't care. I love it! What more? I don't just love the mix of mystical creatures, but also the mixture of different cultures and race. There is a sense of belonging, a sense of familiarity with his book. Yet, it is so new and so appealing. I truly appreciate the grasp the author has over fantasy and his ability to create a story with this deep rooted concept.

There are just a couple of editing misses, but that can be totally overseen as this book has so much more to offer. The book ends with a cliff hanger, a little open-ended and I think that is what the author wanted. I can't wait for his next book to release because I'm definitely going to read it.

Eager to read this book already, aren't you? Don't worry. I've given you all that you need in the below.
