A lot of book lovers have biased opinion on re-reading books. Some would say that you are cherishing the essence of this book while the others would just consider it a waste of time. Why waste time reading the same book while there are so many magnificent ones out there that still haven't been read?
Personally, I love going back to the books that had an impact on me. The sense of familiarity and warmth is something I treasure.

1. The Great Gatsby' by F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Great Gatsby is a classic and became popular in America a long time ago. This was a common read by a lot of Americans especially in the army. Although I wouldn't pick up this book for a re-read unless I have no other books around. It comes as a little surprise to me that it is something that is re-read based on Goodreads.
Well, I get why it is one one of the greatest American novel and has inspired a lot of theme parties. I must agree that it is a great read but I really wouldn't put it down as s nostalgic re-read.
If a rich man struggling for love is something that appeals you then, that's that.
2. To Kill a Mockingbird' by Harper Lee
To Kill a Mockingbird has received several mentions in various of my blogs. But the is only because it deserves to be. This is truly something that opened my mind up to something in such a simple way aka via a child's point of view, it comes as no surprise to me to see this book as one off the books to re-read on Goodreads.
The simple approach to use the tone of an innocent child to understand the injustice that happens in America or any other countries and the fact that it holds good even to this day is something I would like to revisit to remind myself to be grateful for what I have and to strive for betterment and to condition my mind away from racism and stereotypes.
3. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone' by J.K. Rowling
It goes without saying that the harry potter series is the best seller over several years and will be so for several years to come. Any 90s kid who picked this book up would have read this book 10 times over by now. The sheer nostalgia of the beginning of the magical world is something that would definitely make on the list of re-read in Goodreads.
I don't know a single person who has picked this book and hasn't fallen in love with it. Of course all the books are wonderful but mentioning them all would be a stretch. However, this book was the one that started it all. It has inspired and will continue to inspire generations o come and make us fall in love again and again.
4. The Catcher in the Rye' by J.D. Salinger
This book has received so much hate over the years. But, I'm glad that this is one of the books that has been re-read.Holden Caulfield may seem like an ungrateful and obnoxious kid that jut complains about everything and everyone without having an ounce of respect. Honestly though, which one of us weren't when we were in our teens?
All-in-all I'm just glad that this book is receiving the appreciation that it deserves. More and more people should at least read this book to observe the behavior of the teenage if not to relate at least to learn.
5. Pride and Prejudice' by Jane Austen
This classic is truly a classic! I mean the sass and the burns . The enemy turned to lover scenario is such a cliche', but that's the cliche' we rejoice. So, why not?
Have fallen in love with the lead female character and hope to develop an ounce of sass that she possesses over the years. This book fought gender steryotyoes and class distinction during those days and it aims to the same even now.
So with a sense of deep contentment, I'd like you guys to know that this books on the list.
6. Brave New World' by Aldous Huxley

There are two very different books with the name "Brave New World" and both these books are a good re-read.
While one book addresses the ideology that is used to deceive people and their perception from reality. The other targets that act of consumer culture and how everyone are casing to buy things that they don't need.
Both these books gets you thinking and possibly keep you grounded. So it does seems like a good choice to go back to them once in a while.
7. A Wrinkle in Time' by Madeleine L'Engle

I don;t know a lot of people who have read A Wrinkle in Time in their childhood. So apart from the nostalgia, it is something that anyone could relate to about their awkward times of childhood.
This book is just mixture of so many things- Mystery, Realistic Fiction and Science Fiction. With all of this, Madeleine L'Englehas achieved to put across the image we all want to see.
This book in all-the-more relate-able to math lovers or at least non haters. The lead child in the book makes sure of that.
8. The Book Thief' by Markus Zusak

I wouldn't know why this book would be listed in re-reads but it is. The unpleasantness in this book almost seems fictitious or an imaginary or futuristic world. But, this sad reality is of the of Nazi Germany.
Although the darkness engulfs due to the Nazi regime, The small wins of everyday life is something to appreciate and value or lives more.
Of course, there are a lot more then the ones mentioned above. But I thought that it wouldn't be fair if I commented on the ones that I haven't read yet.
